Entrepreneurship and Innovation

This course provides students with opportunities to acquire an understanding of the nature and significance of entrepreneurship, presenting this concept as a descriptor of individual as well as organisational characteristics. The significance of entrepreneurial management strategies to both new and established organisations is explored. The course also covers key concepts relating to the role of innovation in creating and sustaining enterprises. Topics include: the nature and sources of innovation, the role of innovation in sustaining a competitive edge and strategies involved in attaining compatibility between internal skills and resources of an organisation and its competitive, economic and social environment.
