Graduate Entrepreneurial Program (GEP)

Are you wanting to prepare yourself for an innovative, entrepreneurial career?

The highly regarded skills necessary for Idea/Opportunity Assessment, Innovative Thinking, Business Enterprise and Entrepreneurship can be learned - and are essential to developing a capacity to turn opportunities into a commercial reality, either for an employer or within your own successful business enterprise. Are you the kind of person we are seeking to support through the Graduate Entrepreneurial Program with a package of training and assistance valued up to $10,000?

  • Are you a university or TAFE graduate, a final year, honours or postgraduate student or a PhD or Masters candidate at the mid-point or approaching the completion of your candidature?

  • Do you have a genuine desire to develop the highly regarded skills of Idea/Opportunity/Assessment, Innovative Thinking, Business Enterprise and Entrepreneurship?

  • Do you have an idea for a new business venture you wish to commence in South Australia, or a business idea at an early stage of development you would like to investigate further?

  • Are you an Australian Citizen or do you have Permanent Residency Status?

If this sounds like you, then you are eligible to apply for the training and a broad range of support available through the University of Adelaide's Graduate Entrepreneurial Program.

This program incorporates a suite of programs designed to assist you to turn your business concept into a reality.

Applicants can come from any discipline and are not required to be graduates of the University of Adelaide. TAFE graduates are eligible to participate where they are able to give satisfactory evidence of their ability to undertake the Masters of Entrepreneurship or the Masters of Science and Technology Commercialisation.

A potential also exists for people who do not have a previous degree/diploma, but who can demonstrate a record of innovation/entrepreneurship, to apply for participation in the BIG program. Contact Allan O'Conner, Academic ECIC, tel: 8303 0188 to discuss your individual circumstances.

Introductory Workshop and Information Session

2 hour Workshop
"How to turn a great idea into an even greater application"

You are invited to attend FREE Seminar to assist candidates for the Graduate Entrepreneurial Program to develop strong applications.


 Participants will be given a basic understanding of the techniques of assessing and developing business ideas and opportunities, together with a basic understanding of the business creation process. Entrepreneurs from the Program will discuss their business creation experiences, and information will be provided about the application process.
