Noel
Lindsay is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation and
Director of the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation, and Innovation Centre
(ECIC), Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences, The
University of Adelaide. Noel's background includes both hands-on
entrepreneurial and private equity experience as well as academic
pursuits.
From a scholarly perspective, his research interests
centre on Indigenous and non-Indigenous entrepreneurship. In this
regard, he has authored/co-authored a range of papers that focus on
opportunity recognition, entrepreneurial orientation, entrepreneurial
self-efficacy, personal values, entrepreneurial attitude, private
equity finance (business angel and venture capital), cultural
influences on entrepreneurship, and family enterprise. As part of his
scholarly endeavours, he is involved in a longitudinal research project
in South Africa, that focuses on South African Indigenous
entrepreneurship. He also is Co-Director of the Global Entrepreneurship
Monitor research project in Australia. Noel supervises a number of
doctoral students in the entrepreneurship area.
Noel's
professional experience includes corporate insolvency and corporate
advisory work in the areas of investment readiness and private equity
raisings. Noel has extensive entrepreneurial experience in founding and
developing a number of growth oriented businesses in Australia, South
Africa and Malaysia. He also has venture capital experience having
been a director of one of Australia's oldest venture capital firms for
a number of years.
